Far South CDC's housing departments acts as a grassroots educator for the Illinois Solar For All program.
Illinois Solar For All (ILSFA) is a state of Illinois' initiative to increase access to solar energy savings for residents living in what is defined as justice communities. Solar access is offered through free solar panel installation and management for income eligible residents. Access is not limited to homeowners nor to those willing to install panels on their home.
Residents with a ComEd bill in their name and those who prefer not to install panels, can participate in savings through the Community Solar Project, a subscription-like arrangement that could reduce your energy bill, on average, by 50%.
