About the Juneteenth Festival (6.15.24)
This free all-ages event celebrates the Juneteenth holiday by inviting Far South Side communities together for an afternoon of live music, food from local Black-owned restaurants, family activities, a resource vendor fair, and a small business marketplace featuring everything from beauty products to fashion. Juneteenth Festival activates the site of the future Morgan Park Commons mixed-use development. Morgan Park Commons is part of Far South CDC’s bold Bringing Communities Back Initiative to repurpose nearly 1 million square feet of blighted community areas into thriving community anchors that will spur economic growth and repopulate communities on Chicago’s Far South Side that have experienced decades of chronic disinvestment.

About the Fall Fest at POP! Heights Park! (10.12.24)
Our first ever Fall Fest celebrates the Fall/Halloween season at POP! Heights Park!
Pop! Heights is the first new park on South Halsted in over 50 years! A true amenity for gathering, play, and community. POP! Heights Park is divided into six primary zones of activity all linked by a lively, brightly colored walking ribbon that meanders throughout the site. This ribbon transforms from a walking and exercise path in the morning to a roller-skating ribbon in the evening. The park is flexible and modular, with a stage for events, a half-court basketball court, and space for community markets and food trucks.
