This free community celebration honors Juneteenth by bringing together Far South Side families for an exciting afternoon filled with music, food, resource vendors, and family-friendly events, including amusement rides and more! Join us for this vibrant Juneteenth Festival!
About the Juneteenth Festival (6.15.24)
This free all-ages community celebration honors the Juneteenth holiday, bringing Far South Side communities together for an afternoon filled with live music, delicious food from local Black-owned restaurants, and engaging family-friendly events. Attendees can enjoy a resource vendor fair and explore a small business marketplace that features a diverse range of products, from beauty items to fashion. The Juneteenth Festival takes place at the site of the future Morgan Park Commons mixed-use development, a key component of Far South CDC’s ambitious Bringing Communities Back Initiative. This initiative aims to revitalize nearly 1 million square feet of neglected community areas, transforming them into vibrant anchors that will stimulate economic growth and repopulate neighborhoods on Chicago’s Far South Side, which have faced decades of chronic disinvestment.
