Far South CDC processes applications on a First Come First Serve basis. At this time, current slots have been reserved and are under preliminary review to be submitted for final approval. Once the file has final approval, the homeowner will be notified of that approval or decline. If you are currently in our database awaiting notification of an open slot, continue to work with your counselor to complete your file.

Household income cannot exceed 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for your household size. Households at or below 50% AMI receive priority. (See chart below)
You must own and occupy the home as your sole residence, with some exceptions for tenant-occupied properties in accessibility projects.
You must be current on all mortgage payments and property taxes. No missed payments in the past six months are allowed.
The property must be within the value limits established by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) Calculations will be done by counselors on your behalf.
For accessibility projects, the home must have a documented need for modifications, and at least one member must be a senior with a physical limitation or a person with a disability.
