The Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) provides reimbursement grant funding for permanent building improvements and repairs across the city. 

Program participants can receive grants to cover between 30 percent and 90 percent of the cost of remodeling work, with a maximum grant of $150,000 for commercial properties and $250,000 for industrial properties. The grant, which is administered by SomerCor on the City’s behalf, does not have to be repaid.

Special ServiceArea #45 is happy to announce the release of the Facade Enhancement Program! 

The Façade Rebate Program (FRP) is currently funded by 56 Special Service Areas in Chicago. This program gives commercial property owners in the SSA a rebate forimprovements to their storefronts and facades. Storefront improvements enhance the shopping district for everyone in the community.

Maximum amount: $50,000!

 The Community Development Grant for up to $250,000 are now open! Apply by August 15, 2025!

Supported by the Economic Development Bond, this reimbursement grant can be used for construction or renovation costs for your business.

Small grants up to $250,000 are intended to support eligible commercial, mixed-use and light manufacturing projects. Grants provide funding for up to 75% of total eligible project costs involving new construction, rehabilitation or both.
