Did you know that the Far South CDC is a HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agency? The Far South CDC's Housing Department, formerly known as Genesis Housing Development Corporation, has provided quality housing counseling since 1997. The housing program provides workshops, seminars, training courses, and one-on-one counseling to residents throughout the Cook County State of Illinois. 

These services are provided by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Certified Housing Counselors who have extensive training and experience in addressing issues, such as:

• Foreclosure Prevention and Intervention
• Rental Assistance and Homelessness Assistance
• First-Time Homebuyer Education & Training
• Financial Coaching and Wealth Creation
• Existing Homeowner Resources & Community Outreach Programs
• Senior and Disability Services
