About Our Center

The Illinois Procurement Technical Assistance Center at Far South Community Development Corporation is located in Chicago's far south side neighborhood of West Pullman at the southwest intersection of 115th Street and South Halsted. The center is placed within the nearly 29,000 square foot Maple Park Plaza Mini-Shopping Center. The plaza is anchored by Aldi's Grocery Store, Walgreens, Pullman Bank & Trust, and Uber. 

The center is housed within the Far South CDC's office, which is a 3,100 square-foot office space that has the capacity to seat 30 team members, a shared conference room, a breakroom, and two bathrooms. The 160 parking spaces are shared between the tenants in the plaza. The plaza is accessible by car on 115th Street and South Halsted. Public transit to the site includes 352 PACE Bus, 8A South Halsted CTA Bus, 108 Halsted/95th CTA Bus, and 115th Pullman CTA Bus. The plaza also intersects with the Major Taylor Bike Trail and is five blocks north of the West Pullman Metra Station. South Halsted connects the south suburbs to the city and has an average daily traffic count of 20,000 vehicles. South Halsted is the main commercial/retail artery for Chicago's far south side.
The West Pullman Community Area is the 53rd neighborhood in the City of Chicago, which is 14 miles south of Chicago's Loop. When the University of Chicago sociologists created the West Pullman community area in the 1920s, they merged several existing communities. (Read more of the area's history here)
