The Rise @ Halsted

The Rise @ Halsted

Project Description

Far South Community Development Corporation (Far South CDC), Sheldon Heights Church of Christ, Latent Design Corporation, and Brown & Momen, Inc present The Rise @ Halsted mixed-use permanent supportive housing. The project will seek to develop a 26-unit residential building with ground-floor retail at 113th Street and Halsted Street in the east Morgan Park neighborhood of Chicago’s 21st Ward.

Diagonally across the street from the newly developed 21,780-square-foot POP! Heights Park, The Rise @ Halsted will provide permanent supportive housing for youth exiting the Illinois Foster Care System. Residents will receive holistic services from area nonprofit organizations including workforce development, mental and behavioral health services, financial education, and wealth creation methods through homeownership and/or entrepreneurship.

The Rise @ Halsted will be part of the Sheldon Heights Church of Christ Campus, which consist of several blocks with a sanctuary, offices, a food pantry, and a community park. The estimated cost for the project is $11.1 million and will have 5,500 square feet of ground floor retail/office space. Each floor will have amenities and laundry spaces.

The project is located on the busy South Halsted Corridor with access to Pace and CTA buses and two blocks north of Maple Park Marketplace, which includes an Aldi Grocery Store, Walgreens with pharmacy, and access to the Major Taylor Bike Trail.

Estimated Completion: Fall 2025
