2016 Vendor Fair hosted by the GPC Forum 

The 2016 Vendor Fair is a collaborative effort by the members of the Government Procurement Compliance Forum to give our regional businesses as many resources and networking opportunities as possible.
This event will provide businesses the opportunity to learn about contracting opportunities with the City of Chicago, its Sister Agencies, Cook County Agencies, and State and Federal agencies.
Attendees will have the opportunity to attend several business workshops, learn how to join the construction trade unions, find financial, insurance, and legal assistance.

DPS teaches 18 free workshops to educate interested citizens and business owners about the latest developments in procurement and certification.
City of Chicago
Procurement Fundamentals
This workshop will cover the laws which govern the procurement process, including the Municipal Purchasing Act and Municipal Code of Chicago.
Come learn procurement terms, definitions, policies, rules and regulations, such as the Special Conditions regarding M/W/DBE participation and Economic Disclosure Statements before you start the bidding process.

Bid opportunities for goods and services are primarily awarded by a competitive bid process. Look for upcoming pre-bid meetings.
Pre-bid meetings are a good opportunity to meet the contractors who are going to bid on projects, especially if you are bidding as a subcontractor.  Also, as a contractor you get to hear all the details of the project and you have an opportunity to ask questions specifically relating to your business.

The Department of Planning and Development is hosting a workshop for Chicago’s construction vendors. Attendees will learn the ins-and-outs of DPD’s job order contracting process, and hear
information about two unique grants available to lower income Chicagoans: the Emergency Heating Repair Program and the Roof and Porch Repair Program.Tuesday, April 12, 2016

Officials from DPD, the Department of Procurement Services and The Gordian Group will offer details on the job order contracting process, including its budget, program volume, procurement methods and more. The budget, which can vary, is currently estimated at $6 million per year. That amounts to as many as 500 small residential repair projects annually. The workshop’s aim is to familiarize the job order
contracting process for the porch, roof and heat programs to a wide pool of construction professionals.

This program provides opportunities for our local minority- and women-owned small businesses. The workshop will also give a detailed explanation of two federal grant programs, previously known as the Emergency Housing Assistance Program. They are available to repair heating systems, roofs and porches, and can help maintain the vibrancy of Chicago’s neighborhoods. The funds are available to residential properties that are owner occupied, have less than four units, and meet certain income requirements. Typical repair costs range between $10,000 and $25,000 per project.

This workshop will give hands on experience filling out the MBE/WBE/BEPD Schedule A application.  During this training you will learn where to find the online application, what documents will be needed, and how to upload the documents.  Be prepared to work on your application.NOTE:  Please bring your username and password for the Certification/Compliance (C2) System and Business Tax ID Number with you to class.
