Illinois Small Business Development Centers are located throughout the state and provide information, confidential business guidance, training and other resources to start-up and existing small businesses. Far South CDC is a designated Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and its business assistance programs are offered in partnership with the SBA and the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.


Far South CDC works with start-ups, entrepreneurs and existing small businesses to help them develop and expand their businesses and improve their operations and market share. Assistance is provided in the areas of business planning, debt and equity financing, expansion and relocation, placement and training and business and financial management. Far South CDC also assists companies in accessing a broad range of grants and incentive programs.

Florence Hardy is the Director of Small Business Development here at Far South. With experience as a small business owner herself, she is committed to making sure our business owners have the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.


Lender Forums are a series of informational sessions designed for commercial lenders, offering presentations and updates from various Government financing organizations.  Topics will include SBA One changes, new Franchise review process and new 912 review process, and upcoming SBA training opportunities. Organizations presenting at the forums include: U.S. Small Business Administration, SBA 504 Corporations, Illinois Small Business Development Centers, and SBA Microlenders.
